External power supply >25V can damage the battery capacity even though it only cost a few seconds of charging time in normal condition. It is recommended to avoid over-charging when using power supplies with more than 25V for your lithium batteries.

When battery voltage is over 10V, the electrolyte will break down and cause a short circuit. If your laptop is affected by this problem, you need to remove battery and discharge it completely by removing all the connectors, cables from the battery.
